Are you ready to try something radically different?

Today, my beautiful wise friend, I’m going to invite you to do something radically different than anything I’ve talked to you about so far. Today I want to try to feel your emotions as vibrations in your body without giving them any kind of label.

This is different than the practice I shared of feeling your emotion as anger (for example), and then saying to yourself: “Anger is present.” That helps keep the feeling of anger neutral instead of a story such as the usual: “I’m so angry because you did this or that (or this or that happened or didn’t happen to me, etc).

While that is a wonderful practice and will help end blaming and judgment, today I want you to try feeling the vibration in your body without needing to give it a label such as anger, shame, guilt, anxiety, happiness, sadness, joy, etc. Feel without labels. It’s simply a current or feeling of some kind moving through you in order to help the body process an experience.

What does this practice look like?

Watch a child or animal and you will know. When a child is happy, they skip along, clap their hands, and laugh. They allow their body to express the vibration without having to analyze or name what they are feeling. When they are sad, they express the feeling through tears, or quiet demeanor, or napping. They don’t label. They simply allow the feeling to express in the body without stopping it or thinking it shouldn’t be happening or should be different than whatever it is.

Children don’t think of any emotions as good or bad, or want to experience only one all the time like joy. They simply express whatever vibration runs through their body appropriate for whatever experience they are having. They don’t create a story in their head about what they’re feeling. And the vibration running through them doesn’t get caught in their field as stuck energy that eventually will need to be understood and released.

Animals process energy in motion (emotion) in much this same way. They don’t think, wow, that was a good day or that was a horrible day. They simple feel, express through the release of energy appropriate to them for the experience. This is called energy flow and it is our natural way of experiencing life.

Next time you’re feeling an emotion, instead of automatically naming the emotion which will send you into an unconscious story, take a pause. Close your eyes and feel the vibration in your body. Is it a feeling in your stomach? Your heart? Your head? Eyes? What does it feel like? How big is it? Something you can express through your mouth like a roar? Something you feel in your chest like a heaviness?

Know every feeling (vibration) is a way to help the body make sense of the experience and it will pass if you allow it to help you, then let it go without making a story out of it.

And as always, I’m available for private sessions if you need deeper understanding, support, or guidance in the form of energy work or intuitive life coachingClick this link to schedule.
