I LIVE on a farm. A strong storm flattened our corn fields last summer. This could've been a devastating loss, but an amazing thing happened. Each corn plant grew a set of brace roots to help prop it. The entire field of individual plants seemed to sort of lean on each other for a bit before the top of the plant adjusted and continued its growth skyward. No plant was left in the dirt.

When I reflect on nature, this example seems to be a good one for the natural support we are capable of being for one another. The corn wasn't wrapped up in loss and destruction. It wasted no time moving into its natural state of being without thought of doing otherwise. The result was a supported field of individual plants able to reach for the light and continue their growth.

Nature is so cool.
